This is my 31st year of teaching, and my 15th at the grade 4 level. Previously, I taught grades 2, 3 and 5, as well as Music and Physical Education. As you will come to know, I am passionate about what I do and can't wait to get to school each day.

My hobbies include reading (mostly non-fiction,especially biographies, history and politics), walking, spending time with my son, playing with my three dogs and watching hockey and football. Go Oilers and Eskimos!

Some of my favorites:

Books: Unbroken, Gone With the Wind, Wheel of Fortune, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, Sea Biscuit.

Movies: The Pianist, Judgment at Nuremberg., Gone With the Wind, A Streetcar Named Desire, Life is Beautiful, The Wizard of Oz, Rat Race.

Songs: I Guess That's Why They Call it the Blues (Elton John), Somewhere Over the Rainbow (Judy Garland), The Story of My Life (Neil Diamond), For Good (Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth), THe Dance (Garth Brooks, Eagle When She Flies (Dolly Parton).

Quotes: "Reach for the moon. Even if you miss you'll land among the stars." (Les Brown) ; "Wisdom begins in wonder." (Socrates): "My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we'll change the world." (Jack Layton).
